HiRR Virtue Videos

Virtues represent a moral excellence...

"After years of research, we know that instilling and developing virtues in ourselves and in our children is one of the best ways for families to thrive."

- Ali McCarthy (March 21, 2018) www.familiesofcharacter

Below are some videos that represent the 40 VIRTUES that High Road Relationships Counselling Company holds.  Movies help us to illustrate TRUTH and that may be why we so enjoy the escape into the Hollywood world of film and wonderful acting.  This form of media can help us take the abstract and make it concrete.  While enjoying these video clips from epic movie monologues and powerful celebrity speeches, consider the virtue attached and what it means to you. INTEGRITY means living our values and good intentions; not merely professing them.

40 High Road Relationship Virtues

When we take the "high road" in relationships,

we choose to BE:

BRAVE - Dare to Love. Choose courage over comfort. "Your move Chief."

UNIQUE - Be just simply yourself. Surround yourself with other uniqueness.

DIFFERENT - We are all perfectly imperfect. Don't judge.

ACCOUNTABLE - Take Responsibility. Own your shit. Don't make excuses.

INTROSPECTIVE- Perspective Matters. Look through a lens that serves you well.

LOVING - Show and Receive Love. Be empathetic. Do Right.

SAFE - Violence Free. Abuse Free. No "eggshells". Partners for Life.

ACCEPTING - Radically accepting. Brains are all different. See the beauty in this.

A TEAMMATE - Work hard and have each other's back.

NON-REGRETFUL - Prove to yourself your worth before anyone else.

LOYAL - Without it, we have nothing.

REAL - Authenticity is where it's at. Be Bold. Believe in second chances.

CHOICES - We always have a choice. Don't fool yourself otherwise.

VULNERABLE - Take off the masks. Express your feelings. Say you're sorry.

WISE - Life isn't fair. Accept it and move on. Attitude is everything.

HUMOROUS - Especially about yourself. It is a gift beyond all measure.

PARADOXICAL - Life is a mystery, especially death. Don't try to figure it out.

FAITH - Together, love always leaves a mark. Find your spiritual path.

CHANGE - Know that nothing stays the same. There is never nothing going on.

PATIENT - It is a virtue beyond all measure. Grow it. Show it.

FORGIVING - People make mistakes. Forgive them. Let it Go.

PERSEVERANCE - History matters. Stick it out. Positive sentiment override.

KIND - Are you ready to do the world a favour? Choose kindness.

SELF-ACCEPTING - You don't have to be the "problem dog". Believe you can change

HONEST - Take of the masks. Talk about your fears. *viewer discretion - violence

EQUITABLE - Treat equally.  No matter race, gender, sexuality, religion. Just do it.

RESPECTFUL - How ya livin'? Just stand. Respect yourself. Respect others.

CONSISTENT - Form healthy habits and you will see results in love.

INDIVIDUAL - Don't lose yourself within another. Keep a sense of self always.

GRACEFUL - Hold yourself and others to a standard of grace, not perfection.

TRUST - Let go of ego. Release demons. Trust yourself first, others will follow.

HUMBLE - Those who humble themselves become exalted.

A HERO - Not with a cape. Just find someone to look up to, forward to, chase.

STRONG - Be a pillar of strength. But know, strength means being weak too.

ACCEPTING - Don't deny a person's right to feel love, any way it feels right to them.

FAILURE - The opposite of success is not failure, it is learning. Fail Big.

HELPFUL - You treat a person...we are all "doctors" and "counsellors".

SELF-AWARE - Learn to understand your emotions so you don't deny any of them.

CURIOUS - Good questions lead to better decisions.  Our decisions impact others.

HEALTHY - It isn't always rock bottom that makes change. Find what's broken.

Jay Shetty: When Your Partner Doesn't Trust You

"The most expensive things in the world is TRUST. It can take years to earn and just seconds to lose."                                             -Anonymous

What Is Trust?

The relationship between trust and love is a close one. Trust means trusting yourself, your own judgments and trusting others. Trust is the foundation for any relationship. Without it, the relationship will be shaky and will eventually fail. Lack of trust is the main reason relationships fall apart.

Why?

Because, if you don’t have trust it means you won’t feel secure that your partner will love you and be loyal to you. After all, trust means you can rely on your partner, can confide in them and feel safe with them.
